In the past few years, the use of 1L, 2L and 5L small volume rotary evaporator has increased in university laboratories.The rotary evaporator is mainly used for vacuum distillation, and a large amount of volatile solvent is continuously distilled under reduced pressure, especially the concentration of the extract and the distillation of the receiving liquid during chromatographic separation, and the reaction product can be separated and purified.Whether it is a large scale or small volume rotary evaporator, they can be heated by oil or water. This can be done according to the experimental requirements.
Whether it is heated by water or oil, the steps of rotary evaporators are the same, generally divided into three major steps:

1.Position adjustment of water and oil bath.

2.Condenser connection:One side is the water inlet and the other side is the water outlet,The lower the condensate temperature, the better the effect.

3.Speed adjustment:Before starting the rotary evaporator, first turn the speed control button to the minimum. After the switch indicator of the power supply is on, adjust the speed to the speed required by the experiment.
