RE 501 rotary evaporator ( 5L rotary evaporator ) is a common laboratory rotary evaporator, the following precautions in use.
1. The degree of vacuum:

Vacuum rotary evaporator is the most important process parameters, and the user can often meet the vacuum does not hit. It often about the use of solvent properties, such as biochemical and pharmaceutical industries often use water, ethanol, acetic acid, ethyl ether, petroleum ether, chloroform, toluene as solvent. And the general vacuum pump can not be resistant to organic solvents, choice of strong corrosion resistant special type vacuum pump.(Recommended the use of water circulation vacuum pump, our company has sales). Simple method of testing instrument for leaks-pinch off external vacuum tube, observe the vacuum gauge if can maintain five minutes not to fall. If there is a leak, you should check the sealing joint and the rotary shaft seal is effective (see maintenance). If apparatus work normally, please check the vacuum pump and vacuum pipeline.
2. Motor temperature rise:

This instrument motor using E grade insulation, winding using high strength polyester enameled wire.

Operational environment: not more than 1000 meters above sea level, the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 ℃, using continually will make the motor surface temperature rise (the difference between surface temperature and ambient temperature not more than 45 degrees is normal which can be safely used). If the temperatures above 45 ℃, please check the relevant transmission lubrication system (see maintenance). If the ambient temperature is high and the temperature of water bath is high, the user can use fan to cool.
